I still groom myself to look good!

I still groom myself to look good!

After Fei Fei’s wound did not heal, skin biopsies were performed and this revealed a nasty skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. This cancer can be induced by harsh sunlight but can also develop in any animal. Humans get this cancer as well.

Unfortunately, this cancer was very aggressive and the decision was made to excise all of the cancer. This meant that Fei Fei had to undergo surgery to remove the entire ear canal. This was done and Lab results have shown that all the cancer has been resected cleanly. However, due to the aggressive nature of this tumour, there is no true cure but Fei Fei should be able to live a fairly good life till the time the cancer comes back again.

She is currently very well, only her appearances are not that perfect, BUT beauty is skin deep and she is the loveliest most affectionate cat!

An update on Fei Fei (hole in ear)

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Hi all cat lovers,

If you have read the previous post on Fei Fei, you will know the condition she is in. The wound in her ear is not healing properly. It refused to close, as such, I have  sent her to the hospital again.

After going through a blood test, she was found to have a blood disease which is delaying the healing of her wound. It is due to the presence of Cirprofloxacin according to the doctor.

Blood disease

I thank all those who have been supporting Fei Fei financially and in spirit; especially to Nathan and Catherine who have never given up hope on Fei Fei.

I hope Fei Fei can recover soon. I will update on her progress.

Thanks for Blessing
