Eulogy for Tommie

December 26th, 2009

Dear all

On behalf of Tommie, the cat who had a great fighting spirit, I am writing this note to inform all those who cared and loved him before.

“Thank you for loving me unconditionally. My mummy whom I saw on Christmas Eve, Aunt Phyllis for never giving up on me, Mei Mei who cared for me with abundance of love and La La who was always there for me. And thank you to the doctors at The Animal Doctors for your healing hands. I am glad for being in all of your loving hands.”~ Tommie

I am a fighter~ Tommie

Tommie passed away on Christmas Day at 4.47pm. He was diagnosed with terminal renal failure 7 months ago and was given a week to live then. Being a true fighter, he had shown us all what it was to live a life the way he wanted.
He will be remembered in our hearts always.

Poem For Cats
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don’t they understand? asked God
That you’ll never leave them
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity
That nothing is created or destroyed
It just is….forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am….forever and ever and ever.

Dear animal lovers

It is the season of giving again and we look forward to your generosity in blessing the animals that are living amidst us in our communities. Though unowned, they can still be loved. One of the ways to provide a safe environment for them is to ensure that they are sterilized.

Blessing Home is supporting the sterilization of the community cats in the Toa Payoh vicinity. With the funds raised from the sales of the goodies, more cats can be sterilized and save.

We look forward to your kind and generous support once again.

Love,
phyllis

Good Tidings…Fei Fei’s operation a success!

October 21st, 2009
I still groom myself to look good!

I still groom myself to look good!

After Fei Fei’s wound did not heal, skin biopsies were performed and this revealed a nasty skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. This cancer can be induced by harsh sunlight but can also develop in any animal. Humans get this cancer as well.

Unfortunately, this cancer was very aggressive and the decision was made to excise all of the cancer. This meant that Fei Fei had to undergo surgery to remove the entire ear canal. This was done and Lab results have shown that all the cancer has been resected cleanly. However, due to the aggressive nature of this tumour, there is no true cure but Fei Fei should be able to live a fairly good life till the time the cancer comes back again.

She is currently very well, only her appearances are not that perfect, BUT beauty is skin deep and she is the loveliest most affectionate cat!
