Black Kitten with Bulged Eye abandoned by Irresponsible Culprits

August 1st, 2010

On 28th July 2010, a black Cross Persian kitten was abandoned and dumped outside my house between 6.45pm to 7.15pm. To my horror, the kitten had a bulged left eye, which was clearly an old injury based on the ˜darkened and hardened” eyeball which had been pushed out from the eye socket. The poor 4 month old kitten was rushed to the vet clinic immediately to seek urgent treatments.

The entire abandoning and dumping-of-the-cat episode was captured by my CCTV and through the footage, we knew the culprits were driving a small dark red coloured car having car numberplate ˜XXX 3780X”. I am compassionate to give the culprits a chance to own up and be responsible for their actions as I do not wish to hand over the case to AVA/SPCA, which I had done so for the previous similar abandoned case. The previous culprit is now facing high penalty from the AVA.

There were numerous times that someone had abandoned cats outside my house and I want to make it very clear to everyone that I will not tolerate such irresponsible acts anymore, regardless of whether the cat is picked up from the street or owned by someone. This is an extremely irresponsible act and thus, I believe justice should be done to curb such behaviour.

I have attached some pictures of the kitten and please note that the pictures can be rather upsetting and uncomfortable.

I am giving the culprits a maximum of 1 week grace starting from 01 Aug 10 to contact me to resolve the matter or else by 07 Aug 10, I shall proceed a charge with the evidences to AVA/SPCA. With the evidences, it will be easier for AVA/SPCA to locate culprits and put a charge to the case.

For your information, we have named the kitten as “July Boy” and he is extremely friendly and trusting, despite such horror ordeal had happened to him. Despite his injury, he can still purred when we carried him and he was feeling so hungry that he finished whole plate of food. He does not have any feel on his injury and is immuned to the conditions. Would anyone of you do such irresponsible act to a 4 month old kitten?

“July Boy” is currently warded in The Animal Doctors Pte. Ltd at Blk 108 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4, #01-96, S(560108), Tel: 6451 4531.

Phyllis

Irresponsible Culprit Caught…but remains Unrepentant

June 23rd, 2010

The culprit who abandoned the injured cat at my doorsteps and sneaked away is finally traced by AVA.

However, the culprit remains unrepentant and did not even call to apologise. What has happened to the conscience of people?!

I have asked AVA to inform her to pick up the cat from the vet. Blessing Home has already settled the cat’s hosiptal bills and will not require her to repay. However, we hope that the culprit will be ashamed of her irreponsible act and reflect on her own actions.

You know who you are and I hope others will learn from this incident and think twice before they act.

I AM NOT PUTTING UP WITH IRRESPONSIBLE PEOPLE ANYMORE!!!

May 16th, 2010

On 8th May 2010 at 11.25pm, my maid Mei Mei saw a suspicious car (S__6180U) outside our house. We do have the missing alphabetical number but just that we have decided not to put it down! I may not have a camera but my neighbours do have!

2 young girls and a guy came out of the car and without any hestitation, they dump an injured cat outside together with a bag of food and left immediately. The dogs barked very ferociously and we shouted at them but those few irresponsible people just got into the car and drove off. Leaving only the injured cat in a carrier and a bag to us.

From the photos that were attached, you will be able to see what is inside the bag. From the bag of biscuit, i believe that have kept the cat for a period of time and had been taking care of him when he was injured.

We have lodged a report with the police and AVA. Photographs, description of the irresponsible people and description of the vehicle had been given to the police and AVA.

Currently, AVA is investigating the case.

Blessing Home does not support such act!! If you want an animal, it is important to take care of them for life. They have given their youth to you. Why can’t you take care of them when they are injured, old and sick. There are a lot of things to consider even if you want to rescue an animal. Things are not as easy as it is.

To those irresponsible people!! I am not going to put up with all these rubbish anymore!! You shall be responsible for your own act. We shall wait for the police and AVA to get back to us!

Below are some photos:

Blessing Home DOES NOT CONDONE IRRESPONSIBLE Acts

May 12th, 2010

Someone abandoned an injured cat outside Blessing Home. The couple dumped the cat and tried to make a quick exit in their car. However, I managed to run out in time to catch their license plate before they sped off.

I have since reported the incident to the police, SPCA and AVA and has given them their license plate number. They will take follow-up actions.

Meanwhile, the injured cat is now recuperating at The Animal Doctors.

Its hind leg is injured and it seems like an old injury, as such, it might not be a stray but could well be a house cat. It’s anyone guess.

Blessing Home does not tolerate such irresponsible acts.

A very Affectionate Mother Cat with 8 Little Devils

April 11th, 2010

A Very Affectionate Mother Cat with 8 Devil Kittens (Abandon at Pasir Panjang Carpark)

Heartless Human abandoned a Very Affectionate Mother Cat and 8 Devil Kittens at Pasir Panjang Carpark. The mother cat and 8 devil kittens are abandoned in a box.

They had abandoned them without realising the danger that they will be facing. Hmm.. but does those human being really bother about the danger that the mother cats and kittens will face? Or rather, do they know what are the danger that they will face?

There are lots of stray dogs at the place where they will being abandoned. According to the feedback from the feeder at the area, it was known to all feeders that the cats at the carpark are always a supper for the stray dogs. The stray dogs had been attacking the cats during midnight. Lots of cats had either die or seriously injured as a result of the attack.

Can you imagine what is going to happen to the affectionate mother cat and the 8 devils? Will they be able to survive??

An unemployed old man innocently brought the mother cat and kittens into a compound. However, the very next day, he was being informed to remove all of them asap. Else the management will take action. We know very well, what the management will do… They will either call the SPCA or AVA…

The 8 rascals do not know the danger that they will be facing. They can still play with each other, wrestling and jump about the staircase steps. They are really very active and alsovery cute and innocent.

When i was taking photographs of the kittens at the compound, the mother cat approached me and kissed me all over. She is really a very affectionate mother.

Part-time hair stylist, Cynthia Loh has been a feeder at the compound for years. She got to know about this case and had approached Blessing Home for help. Knowing the situation that the mother cat and devil kittens will be in, it is difficult to ignore what had happened to them or rather what is going to happen to them. (Supper for the stray dogs??!!)

Now, Mother cat and all Devil Kittens are at Blessing Home. The kittens had been treated for eye infection and cleaning up had been done. There are 2 male ginger, 2 female ginger, two female tabby and 2 female calico. The mother cat is ginger white. The kittens are about 2 months old.

The mother cat and kittens know how to use the litter box. Save 9 x 9 Lives!!

Please help find home for them.

Please drop us an email info@blessinghome.com for the adoption enquires.

A belated entry… CNY celebration at Lee Ah Mooi!

April 5th, 2010

Dear all

Blessing Home has celebrated Chinese New Year with the elderly at Lee Ah Mooi earlier this year on 27 February.

It was the season of giving and a group of like-minded, big hearted volunteers gathered in the early morning at Lee Ah Mooi in preparation of giving the elderly a treat and also a celebration filled with warmth and happiness.

Volunteers

When the buffet arrived, all the volunteers helped to prepare the food to allow the elderly to enjoy and savour them.

Preparing to serve the elderly

Before we served the food, it was ANG BAO time! :) We offered our offerings to bless the elderly there. The joy and happiness in their eyes touched one and all.

Blessing others

children bring joy!

generations unite!

The power of touch...

After food and Ang Bao, it was KARAOKE time! The elderly were all hyped up as they sang and clapped along.

let's sing along!

The star singer and myself singing a duet...

Grace, Peace and Joy...

Blessing Home thanks one and all for making this happen. Without your generous contributions, we would not have done all this on our own.

Thank you for always having enough to give and continue giving.

Dream Come True!! Better Life for all Kitties @ BlessingHome!!

March 21st, 2010

Renovation work finally started at blessing home last week!

For months, during raining session, the rooftop had been dripping very badly in the hall and in the cattery.  Rainwaters come in very badly whenever there is heavy rain. Kitties at blessing home were looking for places to hide.  It seems like it was also raining cats and dogs in the house…. hmmm… although i do really have cats and dogs at home…. Mei Mei and Lai Lai are mopping everywhere.

Now there will be no more rainwater coming in!! Finally we managed to get the rooftop repaired!!

The structure of the cattery wall had also been repaired due to the rotting iron bar.  Cats that are rescued, do not know how to use the cat litter.  Thus they will urine on the flooring causing the acid to rot the iron bar. The rectification was to remove the iron bar and had the wall cemented.

To me, it will be safetly first for all living things in the house.  For many months, i had been so worried that the rooftop will fall one of these days causing injuries to the living things in the house especially the cats that are staying in the hall.

Now the fear has gone but the new years sales cookies’ earnings is also gone….

Thanks so much to all those who had been supporting on the chinese new year cookies’ sale.

To Me, yesterday is a history, today is a mystery, tomorrow is a bonus.

Looking forward to all your support on the next merchandise day.

Here are some photos from the renovation:
